The “meaning” of Christmas, which is so often talked about at this time of year, operates on two levels. Firstly, there is the level of 1 ; the rituals and objects we 2 with it. Psychologically, we hold on to these because they 3 us historically and give us meaning. They develop and are incorporated into our internal world as a way of 4 ourselves from the chaos of the world outside.
